Susan Davila, our new Executive Chef, recently moved to Asheville with her husband and 10 year old daughter. Susan has an adventurous spirit that extends well beyond the kitchen. She and her family have just returned from a 7 month journey throughout much of Southeast Asia. Upon their return to the states, the Davila family was looking for the perfect place to settle down and make their home, and were drawn to our beautiful and unique area.
Susan comes to us most recently with 17 years of experience as the Executive Chef at Catawba Island Club on Lake Erie. She managed all aspects of food management for a 1,350 member private golf/yacht club. Prior to that, she was Executive Chef at 2 private clubs over a 5 year period in Lincoln, Nebraska. Susan has a degree in Culinary Arts & Hotel Restaurant Management from Cincinnati State. She has competed in multiple Premier Chefs of America competitions, including Finalist in 1996 & 1997. She has been a member of the American Culinary Foundation since 1992.
We are excited to offer more recycling, composting and a small kitchen garden over the next few months. Dining Services continually creates innovative services to provide a wonderful dining experience for staff and residents.
