What does exactly does A Deficiency Free Survey mean? This phrase refers to our annual Health Center State Survey, as described by our Healthcare Administrator, Sheree Byrd:

“Every year, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) visit our health care center to “survey” our compliance with the regulatory requirements of participation with their programs. They review all of our patient records, incidents, discharges, transfers, etc., for the preceding 12 months and determine if we are doing what we are supposed to be doing to take residents into our center that receive Medicare or Medicaid funding. The outcome of the survey are “deficiencies”, meaning they identified areas of improvement, and we must develop a plan to correct those deficiencies. We are proud to report that in 2019, we were DEFICIENCY FREE!!! This is special because only about 10% of homes ever receive this distinction, and it represents a lot of hard work by our team. Congratulate our staff if you happen to find yourself in the health care center.”
