Covid-19 Update March 17

Date: Tuesday March 17, 2020

Although Givens Highland Farms has no confirmed cases of the coronavirus known as COVID-19, we did learn yesterday of the first reported case in Buncombe County from the Health Department. We will implement protocols and adjust as necessary to keep residents and team members as protected as possible.

Effective Wednesday, March 18 visitors toIndependent Homes will be limited as follows:

Because people can be infected and feel fine, without exhibiting any symptoms, we are restricting all visitors unless they are necessary to provide medical care or supportive services to a resident in their apartment or home. We have asked residents to ask these care providers not to come if they meet any of the following criteria:

Have you recently travelled internationally?
Do you have signs of a respiratory infection with fever/cough/sore throat?
Have you been in contact with someone with COVID-19 or under investigation for COVID-19?
Have you visited in a community where the community-based spread of COVID-19 is occurring?
Have you taken a cruise in the past 14 days or participated in other settings where crowds are confined to a common location?
Are you running a fever above 100.4 degrees?

Activity Among Residents

We understand the need to be social, but we ask that we remain vigilant about following the recommendations put forth by the CDC. The CDC defines social distancing as “remaining out of congregate settings, avoiding mass gatherings and maintaining distance (approximately 6 feet) from others when possible.”
