Givens Highland Farms Staff Development.

AT GIVENS, MAGGIE RAGAN COMES FULL CIRCLE IN CAREER

Maggie Ragan is the Staff Development Coordinator at Givens Highland Farms, where she works to plan and present training and educational programs for clinical staff, as well as non-clinical staff working in clinical areas.

The position brings her full circle in her career, which began in long-term care before she moved into a hospital setting, including being a labor and delivery nurse in Wilmington, N.C. before working a stint in outpatient care. While all was good, there was a beckoning from mountains where many of her family, including her mother, live. So, with support from her husband Bret, they made the move to Black Mountain, bringing three cats and a dog along with them.

Being Staff Development Coordinator with Givens allows her to continue in long-term care while an opportunity to focus on a long-held passion for education. And, she says, she is thrilled to be in such a wonderful community “to grow roots.”

On many Tuesday nights, Maggie can be found at the Black Mountain Yarn Shop for knit night. Other nights along with Bret, she enjoys watching movies and playing video games. She enjoys crafts, dad jokes, disc golf and University of Georgia “Go Dawgs” football.
