Givens Communities announces its Board of Directors has appointed a new CEO

Kevin Schwab will serve as President and Chief Executive Officer beginning August 30, 2021.

Kevin Schwab will follow current President and CEO Ken Partin, who will be retiring after 40 years of outstanding leadership and faithful service to the organization, 30 of which were spent as Givens’ CEO.

“After a rigorous and extensive national search, the Board has found in Kevin an ideal candidate who shares the vision of Givens Communities, and brings experience, enthusiasm, and genuine caring with him to the position of CEO,” said Ed Towson, Executive Committee and Search Committee Chair.

Kevin has more than 27 years of combined executive-level operations, finance, accounting, and investment experience, spanning a breadth of industries. He is currently the CEO of St. Camillus (Milwaukee, WI), a faith-based not-for-profit senior living organization serving 800 residents and community members, where he recently led the organization through a successful $64 million expansion project. Being an employer of choice has also been a key strategic initiative across his tenure, and St. Camillus was recognized as a Top Workplace for five consecutive years for large employers by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

Asked for his leadership philosophy, Kevin replied, “Take care of those that care for those we are called to serve.” Excited to be joining Givens Communities, he stated, “It is humbling, a privilege, and a great honor to have the opportunity to serve such a great organization such as Givens Communities that exemplifies a depth of culture and a resolute, lasting mission of providing a quality of life for all seniors. Givens’ approach to growth, as well as its resident and team-centered philosophy, aligns with my own values, and I believe the organization is well-positioned for the continuation of greatness. I look forward to the opportunity to work with the board of directors, leadership team, residents, employees, and the greater community to further establish Givens Communities’ leadership in the industry as a premier senior living provider.”

Kevin is a Certified Public Accountant and a licensed Nursing Home Administrator in the State of Wisconsin. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Marquette University and a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee.

Kevin grew up in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and shared, “Most of my childhood, my grandmother lived with my family and that probably has something to do with why I love to work in this industry.”

Married to Allison for the past 24 years and father to Natalie and Theodore (Teddy), in addition to spending time with his family and two dogs, Kevin also enjoys playing golf, basketball, bird watching, hiking, watching sports, exploring new craft beers and playing board games with friends and family.

We look forward to welcoming Kevin Schwab as our new CEO as we express our appreciation for the tremendous contributions of our current CEO, Ken Partin.
