Givens Home First is partnering with Resources for Resilience for the next series of Learn First Seminars as an opportunity to gather as a community to explore healing, resilience and reconnection.
“Hurricane Helene left her mark on our mountain communities—bringing unexpected challenges, stress, and disruption to our daily lives,” said Jessie Bosshard, executive director of Givens Home First. “In true Givens spirit, we weathered the storm with compassion and care for one another. But as we all know, sometimes the emotional impact lingers long after the skies clear.
The one-hour interactive session, “Reconnecting Through Hard Times” offers practical tools to stay grounded, reduce feelings of being overwhelmed, and nurture healthy relationships—whether caregivers, neighbors, or just people trying their best. The sessions are open to Givens residents, family members, team members and neighbors.
The Resources for Resilience team is made up of educators, counselors, and community leaders who specialize in teaching simple, science-backed strategies to help people manage stress, build emotional strength, and support one another through tough times.
