By combining a neighborhood atmosphere and modern convenience, Givens Highland Farms has earned standings of sixth in North Carolina and 44th in America in Newsweek’s recently published ranking of continuing care retirement communities (CCRC).
The independent assessment recognizes how the Black Mountain senior living campus promotes active lifestyles, individuality and camaraderie among its residents in a scenic Blue Ridge Mountains setting.
Continuing care retirement communities, also known as Life Plan Communities, provide long-term options for residents typically aged 55 and older who can transition from independent living into higher levels of care, including assisted living, skilled nursing care or memory care, all at the same location. There are some 1,900 CCRCs in America and more than 60 in North Carolina.
Givens Communities also has two other sites in Newsweek’s top rankings, with Givens Estates in Asheville listed as first in the state and sixth in the nation and Givens Aldersgate in Charlotte at 15th in the state and 198th in the nation.
